At the outset of the programme, the participant reported:

These challenges had contributed to a loss of confidence around returning to work and uncertainty about the future.

Recommendations included:
- A phased return to work, initially 12–16 hours per week to build confidence, resilience and routine
- A 6–8 week review, with potential to increase hours to 25–30 per week if wellbeing remains stable
- Consideration of reasonable adjustments due to physical health concerns
- Completion of a Health Disclosure / Wellbeing Plan when returning to employment
- A robust induction, regular wellbeing check-ins and, where possible, a buddy system
- Referral to the Access to Work scheme to provide ongoing support
The participant expressed a desire to return to the health and social care sector, a field where she previously felt purpose and fulfilment.
