Learner Support Funding (LSF1) ensures learners are better equipped to succeed in their apprenticeships. It addresses barriers, boosts motivation, and enhances day-to-day effectiveness, leading to improved performance, retention, and long-term career success.
LSF1 provides additional funding to apprenticeship training providers to support learners with learning difficulties, neurodivergent conditions, or disabilities.
The funding can be utilised to deliver targeted mental,
physical, and wellbeing support, including:
Neurodiversity
Tailored strategies help learners make both learning and work more effective, enabling steady progress on their programme.
Social and Emotional Difficulties
Developing skills to manage emotions and interactions helps learners stay focused and engaged in both learning and the workplace.
Mental Health Barriers
Providing adjustments and guidance enables learners to maintain wellbeing and successfully complete learning activities and work tasks.
Physical Health Barriers
Offering reasonable adjustments and flexible approaches ensures learners can fully participate in lessons, assessments, and work activities.
Trauma
Creating a safe environment allows learners to engage with education and work, progressing with confidence.
Temporary Illness
Providing flexible learning options and catch-up opportunities helps learners keep up with their studies and work commitments.
LSF1 helps apprentices overcome challenges, stay engaged,
and achieve their full learning potential while developing lifelong skills
Our LSF1 assessment is crucial for identifying each learner’s needs. It enables our Specialist Learning Mentors who are also qualified clinicians, to create tailored support plans for learners and their tutors.
Once needs are identified, our Specialist Learning Mentors implement adaptive strategies and provide essential data on progress and distance travelled – key for reporting and measuring impact.

What Our Clients and Partners Say
How does it work?
✅ Step 1: Referral
You refer your learner to our team.
✅ Step 2: Initial Contact (within 2–5 days)
We reach out to your learner and schedule their first appointment with a specialist clinician.
✅ Step 3: Needs Assessment
In the first session, the clinician conducts a thorough Needs Assessment to identify key barriers and create a tailored support plan with practical strategies.
✅ Step 4: Intervention, Reporting & Collaboration
After each intervention session, the learner signs a session report. A copy is shared with the training provider so tutors, safeguarding staff, and SENCOs can provide aligned support. (These reports are essential for audit trails and demonstrate progress and distance travelled).
✅ Step 5: Ongoing Support
Sessions continue as long as the learner is actively in the programme and support is required.
